e-Justice ODR Scheme (Scheme) is EC-funded project which aims at preparing open digital mapping of standard e-justice ODR processes.
e-Justice ODR Scheme aims at preparing an open specification which is necessary to start developing open e-justice platforms for different purposes in multiple countries which will be able to communicate with each other and exchange data and documents including in relation to the cross-border cases and (in anonymized form) to train machine-learning services assisting the parties and the judiciary.
Added value of the e-Justice ODR scheme
Open Specification
Open specifications freely available to those who will design, develop and manage future easily interconnectable multi-lingual e-justice systems.
Versatility in Application
Modules of various judicial procedures can be easily modified based on legal requirements in a MS or re-use in different languages.
Cross-border
Enabling much more efficient communication of e-justice data, especially in cross-border situations than is usual at present for traditional cross-border civil court processes.
E-Justice ODR Scheme will contribute to the development of open online environment where modules of various judicial procedures can be easily modified based on legal requirements in a MS or re-use in different languages.
BPMN Model
BPMN Files available for download under the applicable terms and conditions.
- Description of Standard E-Justice ODR Processes
This document describes initial list of standard e-justice ODR processes. The list has been consulted with judges and court officers in a number of EU member states.
- Open List of Processes, Sub-processes and Forms in BPMN
This document is a non-descriptive list of the model processes, sub-process and forms that are contained in the BPMN file package
Guidelines to editing
Although the e-Justice ODR Scheme is available for download and further development of different product, several rules need to be followed. Below you can find the possible design questions that can be implemented as well as the Ethical guidelines that should be considered.
Terminology
We have put together a list of terminology used in the BPMN scheme to facilitate navigation through the following documents as well as the BPMN itself.
Download
General Principles
Handbook explaining the general principles to make use of the model.
Design questions
These design question are here to help to define selection of features by designers of ODR platforms.
Download
Ethical guidelines
Guidelines Handbook explaining ethical choices incorporated in the E-Justice ODR Scheme environment and BPMN for future designers of VAPs and ODR systems. Additionally, such Ethical Handbook includes ethical principles that should be followed to design an effective and non-discriminatory platforms that promotes access to justice for all.
Pilot projects
All outcomes of the e-Justice ODR Scheme project are available for free to all interested persons on the basis of full scope public licenses. The project team is intersted in receiving proposals to adopt the project outcomes for pilot projects.
