Vadim Volkov is Rector of the European University at Saint-Petersburg and the Academic Director of the Institute for the Rule of Law of EUSP. His research interests range from the sociology of law to empirical-legal studies, focusing on sentencing disparities, the legal profession, as well as the institutional analysis of law enforcement.

His keynote lecture will analyze the use of ‘big data’ in understanding the behavior of litigators and the judiciary in Russia.
